MS Access Tutorials and Examples for versions 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007
Welcome to the Eraserve AP - MS Access Tutorials Index. This page is dedicated to listing all of our MS Access Tutorials and Examples. All Listings include written descriptions and some images. In the Table below you will find the MS Access Listings and a very brief description about what it covers. The VBA Examples do include sample databases for download and code snippets online to copy/paste right into a module. Each VBA example has been tested in MS Access 2002-2003, MS Access 2007 and should be compatible with MS Access 2000.
Microsoft Access is a simple database management system and very popular. This system uses .MDB files to house your data. Each file is limited to 2 gigabytes in file size for versions 2000, 2002 and 2003. MS Access 2007 uses the file extension .ACCDB, although it can create .mdb files as well. MS Access 2007 retains the file size limit of 2 gigabytes.
All versions of MS Access, listed above, do allow you to link tables from other Data Management Systems such as other MS Access databases, Excel, ASCII files and SQL Server via ODBC. By linking these tables you can use MS Access as a front end and circumnavigate the 2 gigabyte limit in a manner of speaking. With that said, if your database backend exceeds 2 gigabytes do not expect to import it all into MS Access via a Make Table Query. What you will be able to do is view your data and manipulate it in segments, for example different geographies or different product areas and so on.
MS Access is not an Enterprise solution by itself, but it does have its purpose and it is as stated earlier a very popular Desktop Database Management System. With the ability to work as a front end and to house its own data, MS Access is a fairly flexible Database Management System and is fairly easy learn.
MDB_Builder is a free tool for download.
